This is after more than a year of successful field operations involving multiple retailed units.
The 6500 is a heavy-duty down-swing drum chipper designed for high production and maximum flexibility. Rotor speeds are adjustable based on infeed material density and desired chip length – ranging from 12-50 mm (0.5-2 in) – to maximize throughput and product quality.
With a frame that pivots on the undercarriage, the operator is able to adjust the infeed angle for varying feedstock or raise and lower the discharge height to adjust the chip pile size or accommodate top load trailers. The pivoting upper frame also allows for transport on a 46 cm (18 in) lowboy trailer without the need to fold the discharge conveyor to maintain transport height under 4,11 m (13 ft 6 in).
Maintenance is made easy with convenient service access. The split hog box opens over centre to fully access the rotor and screens for simple knife changes. The grate frame is hydraulically retractable for inspection, service or impact detection. The single discharge conveyor is open on the bottom for clean operation and easy servicing. A tool storage area mounted on the side of the machine hydraulically raises and lowers for added convenience.
An optional large diameter magnetic head pulley is available to effectively remove metal from the end product. The machine is also prepared to accept over-band magnet systems. Source

Tigercat launches remote control 120 winch assist, offering end-to-end Tigercat steep slope harvesting solution.
The new Tigercat 120 cable assist is Tigercat's second model in the cable systems product line. Tigercat has long been recognized as the leader in conventional ground based steep slope harvesting. With the release of the 180 swing yarder and now, the 120 winch assist, Tigercat is leveraging its deep experience in steep slope harvesting systems to create cable systems that complement the ground based machines.
It is now possible to assemble a fully mechanized Tigercat steep slope harvesting system with the option for cable assisted feller bunchers, shovel loggers, track and wheel harvesters, skidders and forwarders, as well as the very capable 180 swing yarder.
The 120 winch assist is fully integrated with all the latest generation Tigercat steep slope capable carriers, providing seamless communications and optimal hydraulic efficiency. The 120 is also designed to work without travel signal integration. The basic installation, requiring only the in-cab control unit and antennas, allows the 120 to be mated to any carrier.
The 120 sits on a full forest duty F8 undercarriage for excellent durability and mobility. The upper assembly has a sloped tail for added manoeuvrability on narrow mountain roads. Access to daily service points and major components is convenient with large swing-out doors for the engine and pump enclosures and prop-up roof sections to access winch system components.
All machine functions are actuated with an ergonomic and intuitive remote control system. The powerful, heavy duty boom system with choice of a bucket or other attachments firmly anchors the machine and can take on basic roadbuilding duties. With ample below grade capability, the boom can extend over the road bank to firmly anchor the machine.
High capacity cooling combined with a secondary hydraulic braking circuit provides highly effective braking assistance and heat dissipation for higher-speed rubber tire machines such as skidders, forwarders and harvesters.
The relatively long distance between the boom-mounted sheave and the winch, and the powered cable tension system combine to provide neat and reliable rope spooling. With the boom anchor system planted firmly in the ground, the cable can be operated off to the side of the machine, thanks to the pivoting sheave. Source
Manufacturing of the Nisula N6 harvester takes place at the Nisula factory from the starting point to final assembly.
Nisula Forest Oy has invested in manufacturing and assembly lines in its factory in Halli. In the new premises, the first N6 harvesters completely manufactured by Nisula are currently under assembly. Also in-house manufacturing of components has been started.
Previously, the base machine was manufactured by a Finnish company Lännen Tractors Oy. Nisula made e.g. parallel cranes with tilting bases, wheel arms, hydraulics, control systems and final assembly at the Nisula Forest factory. In the previous models, the frames, transmission line and engine of the base machine were based on the same structure as the Lännen backhoe loader.
The new N6 is developed exclusively for forest use, where all the frame structures, components and features of the machine are designed and dimensioned according to the demanding logging work. The completely renewed structure of the base machine together with the more efficient Nisula P100 parallel crane enables the use of Nisula 555 series harvester head in addition to the Nisula 500 series. In this way, the customer gets an efficient and economical package for his needs, which is excellently suitable for thinning work.
The machine range includes three different versions; the four- and six-wheeled N6 equipped with a parallel crane, and the six-wheeled N6e equipped with an Epsilon S110F96 crane made for this machine model. All models can also be equipped with a Nisula 335E+ accumulating energy wood head, which is easily exchangeable with a harvester head. Equipped with harvester head and accumulating energy wood head, N6 harvester is a true multipurpose machine that is profitable to use all year round.
The Nisula N6 can also be equipped with a traffic kit option, which enables machine transport by driving the machine at a speed of up to 40 km/h (25 mi/h). The production and after sales activities of N6 machines and harvester heads are now completely under the same roof, and topics regarding R&D, manufacturing, assembly, product support and service are handled straight from the factory.
With the investment in machine manufacturing, the management of the whole process becomes clearer and more flexible, enabling more straightforward operations from production to product development and customer support. Direct supplier contacts, own production storage and component manufacturing ensure fast availability of parts, both for production and as spare parts for customers. The high degree of self-manufacturing enables smooth operation even in a challenging situation with the availability of components like in recent years.
The production of N6 machines also creates a need for additional labour force to the factory, for example in assembly and component manufacturing tasks. The development stages of Nisula N-series logging machines have been as follows:
- 2010 Nisula’s first thinning machine based on a Lännen chassis.
- 2012 Nisula N4 equipped with parallel crane.
- 2014 second generation machine model Nisula N5.
- 2018 the six-wheeled N5 also introduced.
- 2022 deliveries of the completely new Nisula N6 machine begins.
- 2024 N6 completely manufactured by Nisula. Source
