The worlds largest grapple skidder has been designed for extreme terrain conditions!
This eight wheel drive skidder has very low ground pressure for minimum ground disturbance. It also has very good stability for safely operating on steep slopes. It has been designed to go wherever a feller buncher has placed trees, making it good for year-round extraction on soft ground, snow or steep slopes.
It has a large 45 square foot (4.2 m2) grapple mounted on a dual boom set with over 16 feet (4.9 m) of reach. When the grapple is full, the boom folds up on itself over the main frame, which distributes the load evenly over the rear tandems. The boom can even be used to push the skidder out when there are poor underfoot conditions. Traction is obtained through closed loop hydraulics with four variable displacement drive pumps powering eight variable displacement drive motors mounted on a planetary gear reduction final drive.
