Caterpillar To Sell And Support Satco Processing And Felling Heads
Cat Forest Products have signed a worldwide sales agreement with SATCO.

Cat will sell and support SATCO harvesting attachments and parts. Cat will be the exclusive dealer for SATCO except in Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. The products will continue to carry the SATCO brand name. SATCO have their headquarters in New Zealand and manufacture a full range of processing and directional felling heads. These include seven processing heads which range in weight from 1,190 kg (2,618 lb) with a maximum cutting diameter of 635 mm (25 in), to 3850 kg (8,500 lb) with a cutting diameter of 800 mm (32 in). Two continuous disc felling head models can fell trees ranging from a maximum of 508 mm (20 in) diameter to 762 mm (30 in) diameter.

SATCO also offers debarking configurations in addition to a purpose-designed debarking processing head. All of the SATCO attachments have been designed to match Cat forest machines, tracked feller bunchers and the Cat 501 HD harvester. The directional felling heads can also be used for shovel logging, and one (the SAT420) can load trucks. Source: http://www.cat.com/cda/layout?m=251101&x=7&id=4442262
