The X Multi Energy D tyres offer leading edge technology for long tread life and good traction.Michelin has designed the tyre for trucks having regional and highway applications. The main benefits of the tyre are divided into four key areas:
- Fuel efficiency and tread / casing life – A dual energy compound tread in the top layer has very good wearing properties and is resistant to scrub. The bottom layer design makes use of cool tread rubber which reduces internal casing temperatures, resulting in low rolling resistance and extended casing life.
- Even wear – Matrix sipes provide an interlocking action which gives good traction and even wear. Zig-zag groove walls provide good biting edges and excellent water and snow removal. The sipes are also full depth which helps maintain traction throughout the life of the tread.
- Long tread life – A teardrop shape at the bottom of the shoulder sipes relieve stress in the rubber and prevents tearing, while the wider footprint and working belts improve stability and reduces the need for additional tread depth.
- Optimised traction – Shoulder siping provides additional traction even in adverse weather conditions, without compromising tread life.
