Even though the 3800XL is based on the 3800 platform, it is not just an extension of the 3800 platform. The 3800XL has been redesigned to include changes to its feeding technology, with the aim of obtaining large productivity improvements.
The main change is a redesigned reverse-pivot feed system, which minimises the space between the feed wheel and the hammermill. This results in there being little space for material to become lodged, which keeps all material moving forward, obtaining uninterrupted and steady production. The higher production is achieved with improved fuel efficiency. Remote control of the grinders also enables the feed speed to be set to exact requirements, allowing the feed belt to be kept full.
