Highlights include the addition of a Tigercat FPT Tier 4f engine and a redesigned cabin.
The new loaders are equipped with the Tigerat FPT N45 engine, which produces 124 kW (168 hp) of power. Tigercat explains that the four-cylinder engine was chosen due to it being well balanced with the duty cycle of the 234 series loaders. This results in improved fuel efficiency, reduced diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) consumption and improved after treatment components performance. The lifting force and boom speed are unaffected by the engine change, resulting in the same high levels of productivity as previous models.
The operator cabin has been totally redesigned. Improvements have been made to the climate control system and a new heavy duty suspension seat is used which is physically wider. The seat is equipped with heating and cooling as a standard feature. The seat also has improved adjustability, with many of the frequently used rocker switches now being integrated into the armrest mounted joystick pod for better ergonomics. Window blinds have been added to the front windshield and skylight. Acoustical engineering along with the quiet N45 engine result in low in-cab noise levels. A new sound system with Bluetooth audio allows for hand free calling.
The 234B platform is used for a variety of applications. The T234B is equipped with a full forest duty Tigercat-built undercarriage. The 234B is available with the Tigercat AC16 articulating carrier, commonly used for mill yard applications. Source: http://www.tigercat.com/tigercat-powered-234b-loader/
