The FPT engine series will be fully supported by Tigercat, including all parts, service, warranty and technical support.FPT’s Tier4i 6.7 L engine will be the first to appear in Tigercat machines. This engine will power Tigercat’s E-series skidders, including the 620E, 630E and 635E. Tigercat’s 726E feller buncher and M726 mulcher will be powered by the FPT Tier 4i 8.7 L engine. The engines that FPT are supplying comply to the strict Tier 4 emission regulations without the need for variable geometry turbochargers, an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system, a higher capacity cooling system, an intake throttle body or a diesel particulate filter. FPT’s engines meet emission requirements through the use of technology in the exhaust system. Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) converts emissions in the exhaust gases into water, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. The only additional function for the operator is to refill the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF, commonly known as urea).
