The new Nokian Forest King TRS LS-2 tyre will complement the existing tyre range of skidder tyres.The 35.5L-2 tyre is relatively common in forestry, but has been lacking in the Nokian skidder tyre range. This new tyre is 12.7 cm (5 in) wider than before and weighs nearly 600 kg (1,300 lb) when using the 2,010 mm (79 in) diameter tyre. This allows for high load bearing, which is necessary for many skidder models and applications.
Size alone is not the only change, because the tread pattern has also been designed to produce more traction. The lugs are now straighter than before which provides traction across the entire surface. The tyre shoulders have also been strengthened to prevent cuts and provide increased rim protection. The new design helps prevent wood from penetrating between the tyre bead and the rims flange. The tyre is well suited to be used with tyre chains.
