Nisula’s N6 Harvester is now fully manufactured at their factory

Manufacturing of the Nisula N6 harvester takes place at the Nisula factory from the starting point to final assembly.

Nisula Forest Oy has invested in manufacturing and assembly lines in its factory in Halli. In the new premises, the first N6 harvesters completely manufactured by Nisula are currently under assembly. Also in-house manufacturing of components has been started.

Previously, the base machine was manufactured by a Finnish company Lännen Tractors Oy. Nisula made e.g. parallel cranes with tilting bases, wheel arms, hydraulics, control systems and final assembly at the Nisula Forest factory. In the previous models, the frames, transmission line and engine of the base machine were based on the same structure as the Lännen backhoe loader.

The new N6 is developed exclusively for forest use, where all the frame structures, components and features of the machine are designed and dimensioned according to the demanding logging work. The completely renewed structure of the base machine together with the more efficient Nisula P100 parallel crane enables the use of Nisula 555 series harvester head in addition to the Nisula 500 series. In this way, the customer gets an efficient and economical package for his needs, which is excellently suitable for thinning work.

The machine range includes three different versions; the four- and six-wheeled N6 equipped with a parallel crane, and the six-wheeled N6e equipped with an Epsilon S110F96 crane made for this machine model. All models can also be equipped with a Nisula 335E+ accumulating energy wood head, which is easily exchangeable with a harvester head. Equipped with harvester head and accumulating energy wood head, N6 harvester is a true multipurpose machine that is profitable to use all year round.

The Nisula N6 can also be equipped with a traffic kit option, which enables machine transport by driving the machine at a speed of up to 40 km/h (25 mi/h). The production and after sales activities of N6 machines and harvester heads are now completely under the same roof, and topics regarding R&D, manufacturing, assembly, product support and service are handled straight from the factory.

With the investment in machine manufacturing, the management of the whole process becomes clearer and more flexible, enabling more straightforward operations from production to product development and customer support. Direct supplier contacts, own production storage and component manufacturing ensure fast availability of parts, both for production and as spare parts for customers. The high degree of self-manufacturing enables smooth operation even in a challenging situation with the availability of components like in recent years.

The production of N6 machines also creates a need for additional labour force to the factory, for example in assembly and component manufacturing tasks. The development stages of Nisula N-series logging machines have been as follows:

  • 2010 Nisula’s first thinning machine based on a Lännen chassis.
  • 2012 Nisula N4 equipped with parallel crane.
  • 2014 second generation machine model Nisula N5.
  • 2018 the six-wheeled N5 also introduced.
  • 2022 deliveries of the completely new Nisula N6 machine begins.
  • 2024 N6 completely manufactured by Nisula. Source
