Newsflash - What's happening in Forest Engineering?

European chainsaw carving championships at United Kingdom’s APF 2012 in September
25 of Europe’s top chainsaw carvers will take part in the competition from the 13th to the 15th of September, being in held in conjunction with APF 2012, the UK’s largest woodland, forestry, trees and timber show. Each competitor will have to produce their carving from a 6 ft tall and 3 ft wide piece of redwood timber. Source: www.apfexhibition.co.uk

Tractor of the Year finalists for 2013 announced
Seven models were chosen. They are the Valtra N163, Deutz-Fahr Agroton 7250 TTV, New Holland T 5.115, Massey Ferguson 7626 Dyna-6, John Deere 6210 R, Case IH Farmall 115 U Pro and Claas Axion 950. Trelleborg will be sponsoring the event. Source: www.tractoroftheyear.com  

Volvo FH 16 truck now available with 750 hp engine
The truck is suited to demanding conditions and where high average speeds on very hilly routes need to be maintained. The Volvo I-Shift automated gear changing system is standard, but has been modified to handle the high engine torque. The engine produces 2800 Nm of torque at 900 rpm, allowing heavy loads to be hauled from a standstill. Source: www.volvotrucks.com

Trelleborg inaugurates new agricultural (and forestry) tyre manufacturing facility in China
The site in Xingtai, Hebei, China, will produce both radial and bias technology tyres for farming, forestry and agro-industrial applications ranging from 18 to 41 inches. Manufacturing output will reach 150,000 units in 2013. Source: www.trelleborg.com
