Tigercat looks to be rounding off its product line-up with this wheeled harvester for use in thinnings.
The 1135 has undergone three years of intensive product development before being sent to Sweden to be used by harvesting contractors as part of its final commercialisation testing. The machine is now commercially available and will be sold from Tigercat AB in Sweden.
It is a specialised thinning, 8-wheel drive harvester, designed to manoeuvre in tightly spaced first thinning stands with minimal impact. This will increase the spacing between forwarder extraction routes. The machine has a narrow design, a tight turn radius, excellent wheel tracking and powerful steer cylinders for high manoeuvrability. Cab visibility has been focussed on, with large, curved extended windows allowing for good vision in a 360 degree plane, as well as up and down vision.
It has a 9.3 m (30.5 ft) Tigercat parallel linkage crane, including the 2m reach with the telescopic stick. The crane base is able to level to the front and rear to enable better stability and maintain slewing distance and power on steep terrain, as well as a side tilt function so that operator can reach around standing trees.
