The DH910 now has a slewable rear conveyor.
Logs, branches and other wood residue can be used by the DH910 SA-B to produce chips. When being fed with softwood logs, the chipper can process logs up to 900 mm (35 in) in diameter, and when fed with hardwood logs, it can process up to 700 mm (28 in) logs. The chipper does not have a discharge chute, but instead uses a slewable rear conveyor for maximum output per hour and for reducing the fine fraction as far as possible. The conveyor has a swivelling range of 60 degrees and can extend to 90 degrees. Final chip size is determined by the feed speed and replaceable screening segments.
The solid full-steel rotor is designed to be sufficiently robust to handle difficult conditions. An elevated re-shredder screen and rigid cutter bar make sure that good chip size consistency is obtained. The chipping knives can be sharpened when they start to dull, and the knives can be adjusted from outside of the machine. Only one person is required to operate the chipper, as all the important functions are operated by remote control, with all the control elements being joined on one central panel. The chipper can even be operated from a feeding crane or excavator.
The tridem axle semi-trailer chassis of the chipper has ABS, and can be towed by a variety if machines. After arrival at the work site, the chipper can be operational in only a few minutes. It can produce up to 350 m3 (458 yd3) per hour depending on the material and loading method. The chipper is powered by a Mercedes Benz 450 kW (612 hp) engine. Good engine sound insulation allows the chipper to work at much lower revs than comparable models. Source: www.doppstadt.de
