New developments and improvements from Komatsu Forest

From mini-joysticks to new feed rollers, Logging-on highlights some of the improvements.

The following are some of the changes that Komatsu Forest has recently introduced into some of their logging machines and attachments:

  • Upgraded buttons: The buttons on the Komatsu Comfort Controls (KCC) and the ridges that group the buttons have been improved so that operators can easily recognise buttons by touch. Clip-on button markers enable operators to mark their favourite buttons.
  • Mini joystick for harvesters: Komatsu Comfort Controls is a new type of mini joystick available as a harvester option. The mini joysticks come in two versions, KCC standard and KCC advanced. The KCC advanced features five buttons on each joystick.
  • Visible log piles: This new MaxiFleet feature allows one to view the landings used by forwarders as a map layer.
  • Feed rollers on the Komatsu 365.1: The heads concave feed rollers have been refined for improved stem holding and traction. The shape of the roller has been optimised and can now feed even smaller diameter tops to improve tree utilisation.
