New 555FRM brushcutter from Husqvarna

Husqvarna’s new brushcutter has been developed for mulching and shredding brush and small trees.

The fuel efficiency of the X-Torq engine has improved by up to 20%, while engine emissions have been reduced by up to 70%. The 555FRM comes standard with a shredder blade that delivers efficient mulching. The brushcutter also comes standard with Husqvarna’s top of the range Balance XT harness. This ergonomically designed harness has a broad back support, shoulder straps and a padded hip belt that distributes the load over a larger area. The back plate is adjustable to ensure that the harness can be fitted on operators of any size. The side support strap makes this the only harness on the market that is specifically designed to accommodate both male and female operators.

Husqvarna’s SmartStart system ensures that starting the brushcutter is easy. This is made possible by the resistance in the starter cord being reduced by up to 40%, and through the use of a manual fuel pump. The 555FRM is also equipped with an Auto On Switch which reduces the chance of flooding the engine.

Other features include an ergonomically angled handlebar and comfortable handles for a good working position, a transparent fuel tank for checking fuel levels, Husqvarna’s LowVib vibration dampeners which absorb vibration, a bevel gear with high torque that allows the cutting equipment to work close to the ground, a magnetic locking pin holder to ensure that the pin stays in place when switching attachments, and improved balance due to the fuel tank placement being in front of the engine for a better centre of gravity.
