Morbark is adding a new 12 inch (30 cm) chipper to its Beever product line.
The M12RX is considered an entry level machine. It is lighter and more economical than the M12R. It is compact and easily transportable, making it well suited to utility line clearing, residential tree services, rental yards and municipalities. The M12RX has the same large 60 x 31 inch (152 x 79 cm) chute opening and 15 x 12 inch (38 x 30 cm) throat opening as the standard M12R. This permits easy feeding of branches. The M12RX uses an 18 inch (46 cm) diameter single feed wheel with straight flow-through infeed design, which Moarbark claims can easily climb over material, reduce drag and increase chipping efficiency, allowing it to overcome the limitations of competitive 12 inch (30 cm) drum chippers. It uses a TorqMax compression system with spring-assisted down pressure that generates high material pulling force.
The M12RX uses a reversing auto-feed system that extends knife wear life by sensing the engine RPM and briefly reversing material feed to increase productivity and reduce downtime. The M12RX will be equipped with engine options to address customers’ emissions regulations requirements. The first chippers produced will have an 89 hp (65 kW) gasoline GM engine, and later units will include the option of a Tier 4 Final diesel engine. The M12RX features a new style discharge and a dual-sided, chambered air impeller system for efficient discharge of biomass. The chipper can be equipped with Morbark’s ChipSafe Operator Safety Shield, which stops the chipper’s feeding mechanism if the operator’s ChipSafe gloves or ankle/wrist straps enter the ChipSafe sensing zone in the infeed chute, reducing the risk of injury. The Morbark Beever M12RX is scheduled to go into production late May and be available in June. Source: http://www.morbark.com/press-releases/morbark-introduces-beever-m12rx-brush-chipper/
