ProAct 2.0 is designed to increase the mechanical availability of logging machines.
The new system has the objectives of: replacing machine parts before they fail, carry out services before the machine breaks down, and to continually improve and optimise maintenance to suit each customer’s situation. The system follows a schedule based on the shift activities of the actual logging operations. ProAct 2.0 has four components. The first consists of planned visual inspections for monitoring machines between services. These inspections are supported by Komatsu Forests MaxiFleet system, which allows machines to be monitored in real time. Forest machine owners can see where their machines are, follow their production and operation, and even provide remote support.
The second component is scheduled services. Planned maintenance can take place according to the work schedule of the contractor or owner. Field stock of parts is customised according to customer needs. The third component involves customised training according to each machine owner’s needs. The focus is on methodology training and machine settings based on the data generated by MaxiFleet for each machine. Komatsu Forest simulators are used for the training. The fourth component consists of regular follow-ups to ensure systematic service and maintenance work to allow continual improvement. ProAct 2.0 will be launched at the beginning of 2015.
