The JDLink machine monitoring system is available for all stationary and mobile logging equipment.Two universal telematics subscription levels will be available. John Deere indicates that both the JDLink Locate and the JDLink Express will be available. The two options allow loggers to track all of their logging equipment using the same JDLink application.
JDLink Locate lets loggers know the exact location of their equipment and can set up a geo-fence around the machine which will allow the responsible people to be alerted should the machine or equipment move out of the virtual boundary. The hardware has an internal battery, so it can be secured to any machinery that needs to be tracked. It needs to be mounted with a clear view of the sky.
JDLink Express has the same functions as JDLink Locate, but in addition can measure and monitor travel distances and engine hours for utilisation and maintenance management. It also lets the logger “ping” the machine for instant real-time updates.
Remote access to the machine data for both JDLink options is through a user-friendly website. Alerts can be sent out via email or text message. Additional contacts can be alerted if no acknowledgement is received from the designated person.
