Fecon produces a new excavator-mounted log splitter

The Log Jaw Wood Splitter is a hydraulic powered wood splitting attachment.

Even though an excavator is seen as the Log Jaw’s main carrier, it can also be fitted to skid steers and loaders. It is designed to rip apart long, large diameter logs and stumps into smaller pieces for chippers, grinders and shredders, or for firewood processing. It is a low capital solution for handling large material that would have otherwise incurred expensive disposal costs. The Log Jaw is aimed at the wood processing, firewood, land clearing, recycling and composting markets. By reducing the size of oversized logs and stumps, the production of processing machines can be increased, the power requirements reduced, and the machines are also exposed to less stress.

The Log Jaw weighs approximately 450 kg (995 lb) and has a 102 cm (40 in) jaw opening from tip to tip. It has 360 degree rotation which allows oversized wood to be picked up from any angle. It can be fitted onto eight to 16 ton excavators. It is supplied with a mount for easy installation, suited to the specific excavator that the customer will be using. Source: www.fecon.com
