Doosans new DX300LL-5 log loader features increased durability, power and performance.

The new excavator also uses a Tier 4-compliant engine.

The “dash-5” model replaces the interim Tier 4 (iT4) DX300LL-3 log loader. The DX300LL-5 is powered by a 270 hp (199 kW) Scania DC9 diesel engine, providing 27 percent more power than the previous model. The excavator is equipped with a guarded, heavy-duty long undercarriage and upper structure designed specifically for forestry applications such as timber harvesting, skidding, forwarding and shovel logging. Its tracks feature heavy-duty links with double grouser shoes and full-length track guiding guards.

Operator vision from the cab has been improved with a 4 ft (1.2 m) cab riser with guarding. The cab riser can be hydraulically tilted for transport. Four optional LED front working lights and two LED rear working lights are mounted to the cab to provide good lighting at night. Operators can monitor the rear of the machine with a review camera image on an improved 7 inch LCD display screen. An optional side camera is available, allowing both camera displays to be viewed at once.

The log loader also has an improved heel design to work in tandem with a log grapple, a more robust front guard, a boom cylinder guard, a cab guard and standard rock guards. Factory-installed options include LED Lights for better night time visibility, a side camera, an improved straight travel pedal, which allows the operator to travel in a straight line more easily, a block heater or diesel-powered coolant heater for cold-weather starts, and fuel filler pump to assist in refueling if the refueling truck does not have a pumping system.
