Convert your chainsaw into a winch

Create a portable winch by using a winch attachment on your chainsaw.

The Lewis winch is capable of converting the high revs of a chainsaw into low-speed torque. The winch bolts onto the chainsaw in the same way that the cutter-bar does, even using the same two nuts! It is possible to switch between chainsaw and winch in only a few minutes. Any chainsaw can be used as an universal adaptor kit is included.

The sprocket on the chainsaw is replaced by the adaptor supplied with the winch. This allows the chainsaw output shaft to drive the input shaft of the winch. The oil-filled gearbox transforms the high revs of the chainsaw into low revs with high torque. This drives the winch cable spool which pulls in the cable and its load.

The Lewis winch needs to be anchored, for example against a tree, truck or rock. Pull the cable out and winch your log or tree in (or pull your truck out of the mud!).
