New Articulated Carrier From Tigercat
The AC16 is designed for towing applications and rough conditions in log yards.
Tigercat has spotted a gap in the market with their new four-wheel drive articulated carrier. Most manufacturers have stopped making and supporting steering axle equipped self-propelled loaders for mill yards. The AC16 can be paired with the Tigercat 234 or 250 series of knuckleboom loaders. It delivers powerful tractive effort through its four-wheel drive tractive system. The carrier is designed from robust, forest-duty components that are standard to many of the Tigercat machines. The axles, brakes and transmission are the same as that found on Tigercat wheeled feller bunchers. Optional equipment includes circular saw slasher hydraulics and a log bunk. The prototype AC16 was purchased by the Verso Paper Corporation after successfully testing under production wood yard conditions. Source: www.tigercat.com
